This is fascinating. I love Uttley, both her Little Grey Rabbit books, Sam Pig and, especially A Traveller in Time. I don't know Ingalls Wilder at all, but you draw great parallels, thank you.
They are books worth reading at all ages, always something new to find.

I'm going to write some more about Uttley's life soon. Her diaries are fascinating.
